What is Root?

Rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control (known as root access) over various Android subsystems. As Android uses the Linux kernel, rooting an Android device gives similar access to administrative (superuser) permissions as on Linux or any other Unix-like operating system such as FreeBSD or OS X.

Why would you root?

One of the most obvious incentives to root your Android device is to rid yourself of the bloatware that’s impossible to uninstall. You’ll be able to set up wireless tethering, even if it has been disabled by default. Additional benefits include the ability to install special apps and flash custom ROMs, each of which can add extra features and streamline your phone or tablet’s performance. A lot of people are tempted by the ability to completely customize the look of their phones. You can also manually accept or deny app permissions.

        2) Move Magisk v10.2 zip to ‘/cache’ partition using file manager of TWRP;

        3) Install MIUI v8 via TWRP;

        4) Reboot system without wipe anything (first boot will be long);

        5) Reboot to TWRP;

        6) Flash Magisk v10.2 zip from ‘/cache’ partition;

      • Hi Gaurav, I have rooted the phone in both Windows 7 and from Windows 10. I did get the same issue for the first time. But changing the ports and Restarting the phone will work. As I have looked at the code. The error is occurred when the Recovery folder is being sent to the phone. You might be missing something. Still Facing Issues Contact me here at Facebook

  2. Thanks , I’ve just been looking for info about this subject for ages and yours is the greatest I have discovered so far. But, what about the conclusion? Are you sure about the source?

  3. Hello Jay….I have rooted my cool one…Thanks to you for such easy explanation. My main reason for doing so is to have samsung call app and samsung message app…which i miss. Do let me know how best to do this. (or any better ad free ap then samsung)

    • When it says download ok. You have successfully flashed the Custom TWRP. hold volume up + and power button to boot up to Recovery mode.

    • The storage is not mounted in TWRP hence Internal storage shows 0MB.
      You cannot access the Internal storage because of the encryption of data. I suggest you to use OTG and connect pendrive. Disabling the encryption would trigger the ROM and make the Display of Scale value to Zoom by default. Putting it back to Standard is not possible. You can visit this link to see what happens when you disable encryption. Here is the thread. It happens on coolpad too.
      To disable encryption. First wipe the data/ then flash supersu. Now the encryption will not appear and you should mount the internal storage.

  4. Ive wiped data but how do i flash super su? in TWRP? When i try to do that it says unable to mount.

    • It’s not russian, It’s chinese. There is no ther way to root. Follow the guide root the phone and replace or flash it with TWRP.

  5. Rooting successful

    but for installing custom roms from twrp recovery the sdcard (internal storage from Install) shows 0mb data.

    please help i can’t flash my phone and cant take backup also cant install new custom roms

    • It is showing 0mb because the file system is encrypted. The overcome this issue you have force yourself to decrypt to do that you need to wipe the data. When you have wiped the data the phone will start and boot but without encryption and when you mount it shows all the files.

    • Hi, Sorry for late reply
      First, Flash the custom recovery to you’re device by following the guide, “Don’t go to advanced option and select root” Instead replace the custom recovery with TWRP, Boot you’re device normally install Magisk Manager to your phone. Download Magisk and flash it in recovery
